County aiding A-B School in bond issue

Custer County commissioners Monday approved the issuance of $4 million in lease-revenue bonds that should clear the way for the Arapaho-Butler School District to construct its new school building that will house four classrooms to accommodate pre-k and kindergarten students.
Meeting as the Custer County Economic Development Authority, commissioners approved issuance of the bonds after District Attorney Angela Marsee assured them their action in no way obligates the county to pay anything.
“The county doesn’t accept any liability other than approving the audit each year,” Mrs. Marsee said in response to a question from Commission Chairman Kurt Hamburger. “This process has been used in many counties throughout the state.”
