Don Curtis Rushing

Funeral services for Don Curtis Rushing, 76-yearold Weatherford resident, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Weatherford with Earl Stephenson ociating. Rushing died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at Weatherford Regional Hospital. He was born Jan. 19, 1937, the son of William and Lorraine (McCasland) Rushing in Durant. Mr. Rushing was raised in Madill where he graduated from high school in 1956. On July 28, 1959, he married Doris Baldwin in Woodward. He worked in the oilfield for Phillips and Schlumberger. In 1967, he became a trooper with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol serving Weatherford, Elk City, and then back to Weatherford for 18 years. He owned and operated C.R. Weed Control since 1976 and was active along with John and Michael Webb until his passing. He married Julie Cosby on June 2, 2005, in Forsythe, Mo., and they made their home in Weatherford. Mr. Rushing was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Dori. Survivors include his wife, Julie,of the home; one daughter, Donna Webb and her husband John of Weatherford; three step-daughters, Cheyenne Cosby, Sydney Williamson, and Kali Farmer; one brother, Keith Rushing of Muskogee; two grandchildren, Miranda Bailey and her husband Cody of Weatherford; and Michael Webb and his wife Amber, also of Weatherford; and four great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Carson, Gage and Rush. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. at Sunnyside Cemetery in Vici, under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the First Baptist Church.
