Debit card suspect caught at Elk City

A woman sought for allegedly stealing a car and using stolen debit cards in Weatherford, Clinton and Elk City has been identified as Elizabeth Michelle Jones, 44, formerly from Burns Flat, Sheriff Bruce Peoples said Thursday.

Ms. Jones was arrested late Wednesday after a loss prevention officer at the Elk City Wal-Mart store recognized a silver pickup that matched the description of one used at some of the crime locations, including the Love’s store east of Clinton.

It was occupied by a woman not believed to have been involved in any of the crimes. However, she did cooperate with authorities and told them the owner of the pickup was Bruce Lynn Collins, 45, from the Oklahoma City area. Peoples said she also described Ms. Jones in a manner that fit the suspect in the various crimes.
