Elections, ice cream at Triad

There was a good turnout Tuesday for the Triad/RUOK monthly meeting, when the group held its annual election of new officers. Undersheriff Kenneth Tidwell was there to give an update from the Sheriff’s Department, and an added attraction this year was the group’s annual ice cream social, which happened to fall on the same day.
Officers elected to serve during the upcoming year were Sylvia Woods as president, Gary Albert as vice president, and Violet McClanahan as secretary.
Undersheriff Tidwell talked to the group about his plans for the Sheriff’s Department after he takes over for Sheriff Bruce Peoples when he steps down in January. Tidwell indicated he expects it to be a smooth transition. “The ship is running well and there’s a good, professional bunch of people working in the sheriff’s office,” he said.
