Foss Lake folks optimistic about turnout for Labor Day holiday

Optimism is riding high for the Labor Day weekend Sept. 5-7. Eric Puyear, long-time owner of B&K Baithouse on the south side of Foss Lake dam, thinks this could be better than last year, although no reservations have been received so far.
He termed fishing at Foss Lake in western Custer County “fair,” saying that the sporadic rains and extra water coming into the lake have slowed down things some.
The sprawling water impoundment, incidentally, is only about five feet below normal elevation now, and Puyear said water is now up into the remote necks where many anglers like to get out in their floaters in search for the bigger fish.
