George sting began with complaint from real girl

Owasso police began their investigation of 61-year-old Danny George after an underage girl came to them with allegations that George had sexually abused her, the city’s deputy police chief, Jason Woodruff, said Thursday.

The month-long investigation led to an online sting operation which resulted in George’s arrest Tuesday after he allegedly tried to meet a 14-year-old girl he thought he had been corresponding with via computer. The 14-year-old turned out to be an Owasso detective.

But, said Deputy Chief Jason Woodruff, George is alleged to have already had contact with an actual underage girl from Owasso.
