Kristina Schimmels comes from a family of teachers. And like her father before her, she’s combined her calling with her Christian faith to become both a teacher and a missionary. Twenty-five years ago, Schimmels’ father was also interviewed by the Clinton Daily News about his teaching and missionary work.
She’s lived outside the U.S. for several years now, but she still comes home every summer for a long visit to reconnect with her family.
Her father, Clifford Schimmels, grew up in Arapaho, where his sister Roberta still lives. In his early years he taught English at Clinton High School for a brief time, and was a minister at a little country church near Butler.
