Nearly blind man struck by vehicle

A visually impaired man who was a common sight walking with his white cane in the vicinity of McLain Rogers Park was transported to an Oklahoma City hospital Wednesday morning after he was struck by a car near the former Oklahoma Army National Guard Armory.

The victim was Brian Clark, 54, of Clinton. Capt. Justin Parker of the Clinton Police Department said Clark sustained injuries to his arms, legs and head when he was struck at the intersection of S. 13th Street and Opal Avenue.

Parker said the most serious injury apparently was the one to Clark’s head but he was conscious and alert before being transported from the scene by Sinor Emergency Medical Service. He was taken initially to Integris Clinton Regional Hospital, then transferred to Oklahoma City.
