Heading into the seventh and final inning, the Lady Reds trailed Woodward by just a single run.
Leading 5-4, the Lady Boomers scored six runs in the top of the seventh innings as they went on to hand the Lady Reds a home loss in their first game of the season.
“I thought through six innings it was one of the best games we’ve put together since I’ve been here,” CHS softball head coach Blain Perkins said. “We just had some tough breaks and the pitcher got tired there at the end. It was definitely one of the best games we’ve played together, we just need to hit the ball a little better.”
