Bertie Lee Gilliam

Funeral services for Bertie Lee Gilliam, 86, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of Christ, 11th Street, Sentinel, with Mark Bailey officiating.

Gilliam died Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014, at his home in Clinton. He was born May 27, 1928, on a farm in Harmon County, the son of William E. and Katherine (Dudley) Gilliam.

He was raised in Gould and attended Ron Country School for six years. Gilliam was a diesel mechanic and welder. He was employed at Graves Manufacturing and the Oklahoma Dept. of Transportation.

Gilliam married Dorothy Sexton on Dec. 22, 1948, and they made their home in Clinton. They have one son, Curtis Gilliam of Clinton, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He also has five sisters.

Preceding him in death were his parents, three sisters and two brothers.

Burial will follow at the Sentinel Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Stanley-Lee Funeral Home of Clinton.
