Carol Janet “Jan” Britton
A memorial service for Carol Janet “Jan” Britton, 72, former Corn resident, will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton, officiated by Rev. Dean Brookshier.
Mrs. Britton died Wednesday, May 13, 2015, in the United Methodist Health Care Center. She was born March 22, 1943 in Fort Smith, Ark., the daughter of Everett Hixson and Hazel (Cherry) Hixon.
She was raised in Muldrow, where she graduated from high school in 1961. She was employed with a gas company in Fort Smith before moving to western Oklahoma. She had settled in Corn in 1974 and was employed at the Bessie Y, Kellwood Factory and Tina’s Restaurant in Corn.
She was married to Jim Britton in 1999 in Tulsa. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Diana Wise, and her husband, Tom, of Clinton, and Robin Roberts-Leonard, and her husband, Eric, of Edmond; three sons, Tom Green, of Arapaho, and Brian and Blaine Green, both of Muldrow; two sisters, Sheryl Welch, of Tulsa, and Pam Hixson, of Tahlequah; and 11 grandchildren.
