Peggy June Speaks
Memorial services for Peggy June Speaks, 90, Clinton resident, will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home, officiated by Daniel Mosburg.
Speaks died Monday, June 29, 2015, in the Methodist Health Care Center in Clinton. She was born June 25, 1925 to Milon H. Garber and Lela H. (Whittier) Garber in Otis Orchards, Wash.
Mrs. Speaks was raised in Bainbridge Island, Wash. off the coast of Seattle. She attended Bainbridge School but did not get to graduate.
Her senior year was during World War II, and all of the teachers left to get defense jobs and no one was left to teach.
She married Edison L. Davis in 1941 in Dothan, Ala. She later married George E. Speaks on Feb. 16, 1974 in Roy, Wash. He preceded her in death in 2009.
She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Kay Davis Kennedy Long; two grandsons, William Brian Eddy and Richard Wayne Eddy; a great granddaughter, Micah Janae; and her parents.
Survivors include three daughters, Sharon Eddy, and her husband, Irvin, of Custer City, Penny Lockhart, and her husband, Bob, of Clinton, and Sandra Perreault, and her husband, William, of Genoa, Neb.; a son, Terry Davis, and his wife, Roxanna, of Olympia, Wash.; and 11 grandchildren; Kathy Valentine, and her husband, Forrest, Michael Eddy, and his wife, Sheila, Michael Davis, Michael Kennedy, Christian Kennedy, Robert Lockhart, III, Kelly Lockhart, Sandra Scheffler, and her husband, Greg, Jonathan Hall, and his wife, Denise, Angel Tieke, and her husband, Daniel, and Julia Perreault; and numerous great-grandchildren.
