Modean Webb

A chapel service for Modean Webb, 92, Clinton resident, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home, officiated by Chaplain Dan Day.

Mrs. Webb was born Dec. 28, 1922 to John and Maggie (Vickery) Stewart in Dyersburg, Tenn. and died Wednesday July 8, 2015 in the Methodist Health Care Center in Clinton, OK.

Mrs. Webb was raised on a farm during the depression in the southeast corner of Missouri in an area that was known as “Boot Hill.”

She graduated from high school in 1940 and then moved to Memphis, Tenn. to escape from the farm.

She was employed in Memphis during WWII and married Leo Webb after the War in 1946.  They moved to Clinton in 1957 where she worked as a bookkeeper for the Little Olds and Cadillac dealership for many years and later retired from Buck Chevrolet in 1994.  She was later married to Ed DeLong.

She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husbands, Leo Webb and Ed DeLong; an infant daughter, Sherry Lynn; a brother, Johnny Stewart; three sisters, Vera Bagby, Dean Lehr, and Geneva Parker; and a son-in-law, Jerry Dobbins.   

Survivors include a daughter, Linda Dobbins, of Thomas; a son, Phil Webb, and his wife, Marcia, of Vacaville, Calif.; two grandchildren, Christal Dobbins, of Thomas, and Amber Dobbins-Nitzel, of El Reno; and a great granddaughter, Makyla, of El Reno.

Burial will conclude in the Mound Valley Cemetery in Thomas.
