Donald Hubert Johnson

Donald Hubert Johnson, 83, was born in Sayre, Oklahoma on February 24, 1932 to Hubert Kenneth and Tina Mae (Abernathy) Johnson.

He was surrounded by his loving daughter and husband, sister and nephew, as he went to be with his Heavenly Father on Thursday, September 10, 2015.  

Donald graduated from Berlin High School in 1950 and joined the United States Air Force soon after.  

In 1954 he married Naomi Baker of Berlin, Oklahoma, in Hawaii, where he was stationed in the Air Force.  

He worked for United Airlines in San Francisco, CA for 35 years until he retired in 1990.  After he retired Donald and Naomi left California and returned to Oklahoma to make their home in Elk City.  They were married for 38 years and to this union was born one daughter, Diana Johnson Hazlett.  

On April 10, 1993 he married Jean Kamphaus of Canute, OK.  

He is survived by his current wife Jean Kamphaus Johnson, his two sisters, Margaret Buckley of Oklahoma City, OK and Anna Mae Campbell of Sayre, OK, his daughter, Diana Johnson Hazlett of Platte Woods, MO, two grandchildren, Erica Miller, Ft. Worth, TX and Mark Silva, Liberty, Missouri, three great grandchildren, Ali, Wyatt and Garrett, a step granddaughter Brandy Wilson of Canute, OK and a step great granddaughter Taylor Wilson.

He was preceded in death by his parents Hubert Johnson and Tina Mae Johnson of Sayre, OK.

The family would like to thank all those who sent condolences, flowers, food, calls, cards,  etc.  Your thoughtfulness is sincerely appreciated.
