Verbena Looper
Funeral services for Verbena Looper, 70, El Reno resident, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 26, in the Cheyenne -Arapaho Community Building. A wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, in the community building.
She died Oct. 15, 2015, at the OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
Verbena Sue Brock was born June 25, 1945, the daughter of L. Brock and Josephine (Yellow Eyes) Brock in Concho. She was raised in Watonga, Kansas, Texas and moved to Broken Arrow where she graduated
Broken Arrow High School in 1965. She soon moved to Amarillo, Texas, where she attended cosmetology school.
She married Dale Johnson in 1969 in Amarillo. They moved to Pampa, Texas, where they owned and operated a beauty salon.
She later married Jimmy Owen Looper Dec. 26, 1981, and they made their home in Pampa.
She had also made her homes in Burns Flat, Concho, and Altus and had most recently made her home in El Reno in 2009.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; a brother, Evan Morlan; and her uncle, Leonard Hays.
She is survived by her daughter, Micah Demery, of El Reno; her son, Darrell Morlan and his wife, Jacquelyn, of Arapaho; two sisters, Catherine Derenzo and Agnes Little Hawk, both of El Reno; three brothers, Phillip Morlan Jr. of Concho, Dean Morlan and his wife, Libby , of Watonga and Cody Mack of Oklahoma; and her grandson, Michael Damion Looper, of El Reno.
Services will be officiated by Fred Rider. Arrangements are under the direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
