Lillian Melton

Services for Lillian Melton, 85, of Butler, were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel.
 

She died Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015, at Specialty Select Hospital in Mid-West City.
 

She was born June 18, 1930, to Charlie Baumgartner and Hulda (Klein) Baumgartner, in Shiloh. She was raised in the Butler area and attended a country school.  She farmed with her family until she married Herman L. Melton on January 2, 1942. They farmed, and she baby-sat for many families in Butler.  
 

She was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Butler. She served as secretary, and taught Sunday school.  She enjoyed quilting, working with her flowers, and hand work.
 

She is preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Rosa Nance, Lydia Skelton, Verna Thompson, and Juanita Roachell; two brothers, Henry Baumgartner and Edward Baumgartner; and two nephews, Kenneth Nance and Richard Baumgartner.
 

She is survived by her husband, Herman, of the home; three nieces, Barbara Findley, of Butler, Vickie Baxter, of Arapaho, and Cathy Harrelson, of Oklahoma City; and four nephews, Ronnie Thompson and Wayne Baumgartner, both of Butler, Albert Baumgartner, of New Mexico, and Lonnie Skelton, of Elk City.
 

Services will be officiated by Pastor Roger Comstock.  Interment will follow in the Butler Cemetery, under the direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
