Jerry Purintun
Memorial services for Jerry LeRoy Purintun, 72, of Yukon, will be held at 2 p.m. today at the First United Methodist Church in Clinton.
Purintun died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015, at his home in Yukon.
He was born July 12, 1943, in Lexington, Nebraska, to Vernon and Margery (Hollibaugh) Purintun. He was raised and attended school in Gothenburg, Nebraska and graduated from Gothenburg High School in 1961. He received his Bachelors Degree in Education in 1965 from the University of Nebraska at Kearney, and his Master of Science in Education in 1972. He was also a member of the Class VII Leadership Oklahoma.
On June 6, 1964, he married Clydene Rhoadarmer in Overton, Nebraska.
He taught school for eight years from 1965 to 1973. He was involved in banking in Nebraska until 1985, when they moved their family to Weatherford and he worked at United Community Bank and later Bank First. In 1998 they moved to Clinton, where he worked at Oklahoma Bank and Trust from 1997 until 2010.
In 2010, Jerry and Clydene moved to Yukon and he retired from banking.
Jerry enjoyed different types of sports, going to his family’s activities, being a grandfather, and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Judy Fester; mother-in-law, Doris Rhoadarmer; and brother-in-law, Lynn Purintun.
He is survived by his wife, Clydene, of the home; three sons, Darin Purintun and wife, Kathy, of Tuttle, Curtis Purintun and wife, Kim, of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Stuart Purintun and wife, Stacey, of Weatherford; two sisters, Janis Taylor and husband, Jerry, of Salina, Kan, and Jolene Jankowski and husband, Al, of Omaha, Neb.; father-in-law, Clyde Rhoadarmer, of Overton, Neb.; sister-in-law, Nancy Purintun of Kearney, Neb.; brother-in-law, Larry Fester of Ogallala, Neb.; and six grandchildren, Ben, Nick, Cassandra, Shiann, Sydney, and Kamryn.
The memorial will be officiated by Rev. Roland Youngberg and Rev. Bob Younts, under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.
