Verla Beth ‘Davis’ Powers

Funeral services for Verla Beth (Davis) Powers, 59, of Arapaho, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church of Arapaho.

Verla died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015, at her home in Arapaho.

She was born May 15, 1956, in Sentinel to Virgil Neal Smith and Viola J. (Shockey) Smith. She was raised in Clinton, and graduated from Clinton High School in 1975.  She married Leon Powers in 1993 at Oklahoma City.  She was a homemaker and loved sewing, quilting, fishing, and especially spending time with her children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband.

Survivors include a daughter, Lori Beth Murphy, of Arapaho; a son, Adam Bieberich, of Clinton; a step-son, James Davis, of Arapaho; three sisters, Velda Jo Sams, of West Virginia, Vonna Sue Phillips and Vivian Rose Stockton, both of Clinton; and a brother, Virgil Lee Smith, of Clinton. She is also survived by eight grandchildren.

Services will be officiated by Loyd Hall and Van Leonard. Interment will follow at Arapaho Cemetery under the direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
