Nella May Escobedo
Funeral services will be held for Nella May Esco-bedo, 81, former Clinton resident, at 2 p.m. today (Friday), in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel.
Escobedo died Monday, Feb. 9, 2016, at her home in Enid.
Nella May (Jernigan) Escobedo was born Dec. 9, 1934, to Friday Preston Jernigan and Lola May (McFarland) Jernigan, in Martha. She was raised in Clinton and graduated from Clinton High School in 1952.
She moved to the Dallas-Fort Worth area in Texas, and later made her homes in Kansas, California and Washington state for many years. She returned to Oklahoma and settled at Enid in 2002.
Escobedo worked as a keypunch operator for Rusco Electronics and Nintendo Corporation.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Sidney Jernigan; and a grandson, Shawn Preston Phillips.
Survivors include four daughters, Michelle Blair, Butler, Debbie Murray and husband, Gary, Tuttle, Lica Estrada White and husband, Donald, Noble, and Jennifer Escobedo, Oregon; two brothers, David Jernigan and wife, Pat, and Johnny Jernigan and wife, all of Bessie; and 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Services will be officiated by Doyle Kinney. Interment will follow at Union Hatchett Cemetery near Bessie, under the direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
