Richard Stewart
Richard Stewart, whose mother was a former longtime Clinton school teacher, died Feb. 28, 2016, at his home in Cleburne, Texas. He was 89.
Stewart was born Jan. 15, 1927, to Neva and Raymond Stewart at Canadian, Texas. He grew up in Clinton where his mother, Neva Pugh, taught at Nance Elementary School and Clinton Junior High. He himself was a graduate of Clinton High School.
A celebration of life is planned at a later time. Rosser Funeral Home of Cleburne is in charge of arrangements.
Stewart proudly served his country during World War II. He was a college graduate who worked for Braniff Airways in Dallas and Los Angeles before joining Sears in 1952 at Dallas. From there he traveled several states representing the Sears, Roebuck Foundation.
In 1986 he retired at Cleburne where he was manager of the Sears store.
An Episcopalian, he helped others by donating blood and doing other deeds of kindness.
Stewart is survived by his wife of 63 years, Alice, and one son, Michael (Scott), plus numerous other relatives, including a cousin, Claudia Eagan of Arapaho.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or a charity of one’s choice.
