Mary Ann Koons

A memorial service for Mary Ann Koons, 80, of Colony, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Columbian Presbyterian Church in Colony.

Mrs. Koons died on Saturday, March 19, 2016, at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Oklahoma City.

She was born Sept. 18, 1935, to William “Bill” Cross and Edna (Hadley) Cross in Colony. She was raised in Colony, where she graduated from high school in 1953.

Koons lived in Watonga for many years, where she worked in the medical records department of Indian Health Services. After retiring she returned to Colony, where she had lived for several years before her death.

She was a member of the Columbian Presbyterian Church in Colony. She loved to garden, and was always proud of her home and how it looked.  

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Tommy Reynolds and Johnny Levi Reynolds Jr.; two daughters, Gwendolyn Reynolds and Kate Reynolds; a brother, Laverne Cross; a sister, Henrietta Ellis; and a granddaughter, Kate Reynolds.

She is survived by her husband, Harold of the home; her son, Tommy Koons, of Weatherford; and a sister, Lorene Sage, of Weatherford.

She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Thomas Koons, Kirby Reynolds, Ralph Reynolds, Virgil
Ellis Jr., William Ellis, Jonathan Ellis, Justin Ellis, Marian Stewart, Ashely Ellis, Amy Ellis and Cheyenne Ellis; and numerous great-grandchildren.

A traditional wake service will be held at 7 p.m. today in the Indian Baptist Church in Weatherford.

The service will be officiated by Rev. Gerald Watson, under the direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
