Claud Sarver

Services will be held for Claud Sarver, 79, at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 22, 2016, at Whinery-Savage Chapel in Elk City.
He died Sunday, July 17, 2016, in Leedey.
Sarver was born Feb. 18, 1937, to Jacob and Carrie Sarver, in Kansas City, Kan.
He joined the U.S. Marines in June 1954 and served until 1957. In December 1960 he joined the U.S. Army, where he received his communications training. He was honorably discharged in December 1963.
He married Emma Jo Bailey in 1961, in Fort Gordon, Ga. The couple moved from Arizona to Burns Flat in 1972. They moved to a farm on Old Port Road, where they raised their family. They later sold the farm and moved to Safford, Ariz., where they had lived for several years prior to Sarver’s death.
Sarver was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Lorraine Mayhew and Claudine Payne, Sarver’s twin sister; an infant brother; and a brother, Donnie.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; son Richard Sarver and wife Pam, of Sentinel; two daughters, Kimberly Currier and husband Bryan, and Betty Whittington and husband Mark, all of Leedey; 10 grandchildren, Cassie Leal, Desirae Corbin, Jascinda Currier, Destinee Saver, Kelsey Farris, Coltan Whittington, Blake Currier, Cayla Whittington, Remington Sarver and Rangler Sarver; eight great-grandchildren, Kylie Leal, Jaylynn Currier, Jase Harrel, Brock Leal, Dex Corbin, Heidi Leal, Khloe Farris and Emma Jo Hammer; a sister, Betty Jean Ginn, of Chandler; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Interment will follow the service at Port Cemetery.
