Daily News expands CHS game coverage
The 2016 Clinton High School football team will receive the deepest in-depth coverage of any team in the program’s storied history.
This season, the Clinton Daily News Sports Department is expanding its coverage to multiple online outlets. On Twitter, we will live tweet each game from start to finish. The live tweeting allows fans to follow the game’s big plays, scoring drives, changes of possession and quarter score updates. To follow the Clinton Daily News on Twitter, search for the handle @ClintonDNSports.
In addition, scoring updates will be sent out through the Clinton Daily News Facebook page. Each time either team scores, a post will be put out on Facebook notifying our current 2,054 followers of the game’s score. To follow the Clinton Daily News Facebook page search for Clinton Daily News.
Another new item to this season’s coverage is the News Alert that allows you to receive scoring updates as they happen via e-mail. News Alerts are not just for sports, they are also used to send out breaking news items. Anyone wishing to receive News Alerts can sign up by going to ClintonDailyNews.com and clicking on the News Alert tab. All current CDN online subscribers are already signed up to receive News Alerts.
On top of the up to the minute information, game coverage in the print edition will move to Tuesday.
“It has become very difficult to meet our delivery deadlines when we wait until the game is over to write the story, process pictures, print the paper and then get it ready for mailing and distribution,” said CDN Publisher Rod Serfoss. “Now that we can offer up to the minute coverage online we will move our in-depth game story, game photos, box score, comments from the coaches and the statistical breakdown of the game to the Tuesday edition.
“We are pleased to have Collin Wieder as our sports editor. His knowledge allows us to cover Red Tornado football like never before.”
