Wanda Meyer
Services will be held for Wanda Elizabeth (Owens) Wohl Meyer, 87, of Leedey at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Leedey High School.
She died Saturday, March 18, 2017, in her home west of Leedey.
Meyer was born Oct. 6, 1929, to Charley and Florence (Ferrell) Owens in Dewey County. She attended grade school at Rhea School and graduated from Leedey High School in 1947.
In 1948 she married Andrew John Wohl. He preceded her in death in 1968.
She married Delbert Meyer in 1972 and the couple settled on his Leedey farm.
Meyer was a member of the Church of Christ. She enjoyed farming, canning, gardening, sitting on the back porch watching the hummingbirds, family time, and mowing the grass beside her husband on their “his” and “hers” riding lawnmowers. She never missed her grandchildren’s ballgames.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Charles Leonard Owens; a son, Kenneth Wohl Sr.; and a granddaughter, Jaci Basler.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; a son, Donald Wohl and wife, Gail, of Arapaho; daughters Deborah Meyer of Upland, Calif., Kathy Dodson and husband, Gary, of Putnam, and Lometa Lee and husband, David, of Arapaho; a daughter-in-law, Tarena Wohl of Leedey; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren (and one on the way); siblings Arveta Bailey and husband, Kenneth, of Oklahoma City, Thelma Mae Craig of Leedey, Patsy Gragg and husband, Bobby, of Butler and Chester “Frog” Owens and wife, Barbara, of Leedey; and numerous other relatives and friends.
