Willard L. Green

   Graveside  services for Willard L. Green, 89, former resident, will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Clinton Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Roland Youngberg and under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.

   Willard Lane Green was born Oct. 10, 1924 to Fred Lane Green and Lena Lee (Smith) Green in Dunlap, Texas and passed away June 14, 2014 in Bedford, Texas.

   Green was raised in Clinton and graduated from Clinton High School in 1942. While attending high school he worked part time at the local Greyhound Bus Station.

   He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps Dec. 7, 1942, serving during World War II and achieving the rank of sergeant. He was honorably discharged on Nov. 9, 1945.

   After his military discharge he moved to Los Angeles, Calif. to begin a career as a ticket agent for Greyhound Bus, where he worked until his retirement in 1979.  He then became a travel agent for Chase Travel.

   In 1995, Willard moved back to Oklahoma to be near family members. He then moved to Texas to live until his death on June 14, 2014.

   He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Millard and Clayton Green; and a sister, Lawauna Hicks.

   Survivors include brothers, Clyde Green and his wife, Becky, of North Richland Hills, Texas, Royce Green, of Wichita, Kan. and Joe Green, of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Frances Hoffman and her husband, Carrol, of Clinton, and Barbara Bodenstein and her husband, Ron, of Springdale, Ark.; two sisters-in-law, Lupe Green, of Oregon and Cecelia Green, of Duncan; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
