Ann Miller

Funeral services for Ann Miller, 85, of Cordell, will be held at 10 a.m. today at Cordell First Baptist Church.
She died Friday, July 22, 2016, at Weatherford Regional Hospital.
Thirza Ann (Hardin) Miller was born Oct. 3, 1930, to Tirey and Alma (Carmicheal) Hardin, in Clinton. She grew up in Clinton and graduated from Clinton High School.
She was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company until her marriage to Walter Miller in 1953. The couple made their home in Cordell.
In January 1964 they opened Miller’s Variety Store in Shattuck. They retired in 1982 and returned to Cordell, which is when Miller became involved with the Genealogy Society. She spent several years researching Miller family history and met many new relatives throughout the country and in Germany. In 1990 she published a book about her research, “In Search of Dreams: Muller-Miller Family Histories.”
Miller also enjoyed painting and quilting, and gave many paintings and baby quilts as gifts over the years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Charles Miller; and a brother, Joe Hardin.
Survivors include sons Steve Miller and wife, Cathye, of Carl’s Corner, Texas, and Jerry Miller and wife, Kathy, of Bessie; daughter Sharon Miller, of Flower Mound, Texas; two brothers, Dan Hardin and wife, Vicki, of Amarillo, Texas, and Bryan Hardin and wife, Mary, of Hilton Head Island, S.C.; one grandson, Benjamin Miller, of Midlothian, Texas; step-grandchildren Jessica Saucier, of Burleson, Texas, Jesse Zarecki and Dwight Zarecki, of Binger, Travis Zarecki, of Oklahoma City, Malorie Zarecki, of Clinton, and Michelle Lister, of Galveston, Texas; 13 step-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be officiated by Terrell Romberg. Interment will follow at Clinton Cemetery under the direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral home.
