Carol Jean Schantz

Funeral services will be held for Carol Jean Schantz, 73, of Thomas, at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Freedom Worship Center in Thomas.

She died Sunday, April 17, 2016, at Grace Living Center in Clinton.

Mrs. Schantz was born July 1, 1942, to Arthur and Louise (Self) Ledbetter, in Pawhuska. She was raised in Hominy and graduated from Hominy High School in 1959.

In 1961 she married Donnie Schantz in Hominy, where the couple made their first home. They moved to Thomas in 1963, where they settled and raised their family. Mrs. Schantz enjoyed knitting and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and grandson Jared Schantz.

Schantz is survived by her husband, of the home; three sons, Larry Schantz and wife Donna, of Dallas, Texas, Johnny Schantz and wife Saundra, of Bessemer, Ala., and Bobby Schantz and wife Julie, of Clinton; three daughters, Lisa Wilkerson and husband Cody, of Tulsa, Donna Williams and Rob Shepherd, of Weatherford, and Bianca Caler and husband Gary, of Boer, Texas; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren;  two brothers, Marvin Ledbetter and wife Eva, of Cleveland, and Albert Ledbetter, of Hominy; and one sister, Wanda Ledbetter, of Cleveland.

Services will be officiated by Pastor Jerry Yoder. Interment will follow at Mound Valley Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.
