Faye Harrelson
A funeral service for Faye Harrelson, 72, Clinton resident, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday in the First Christian Church.
Geneva Faye (McLaughlin) Harrelson was born December 20, 1942 to Lester McLaughlin and Vivian (Johnson) McLaughlin in Foss. She died Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015 in the Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City.
Faye was raised in Hydro and graduated from Hydro High School in 1960. She moved to Clinton and worked for the Kellwood Factory and also worked at Southwest Elementary School as a teacher’s aide. She began a career at the Clinton Veterans Center in 1975 and worked there 33 years, retiring in 2008 as the Human Resources Director.
She was married to Herman Harrelson on March 24, 1980,in Las Vegas, Nev. and they made Clinton their home.
She held her church membership at the First Baptist Church. She was a member of the Bunco Club, and she enjoyed gardening, working with her flowers, and arts and crafts. She collected frogs, because it stood for Fully Relying On God while she was fighting breast cancer in 1998.
She was preceded in death by her father; a son in law, Dwight Perkins; and a grandson, Austin Perkins.
She is survived by her husband, Herman, of the home; two daughters, Terri L. Smith Hutchings and husband, Kevin, of Edmond and Jerri A. Shepherd and husband, Rusty, of Clinton; a step son, Chris Harrelson and wife, Salina, of Hartselle, Ala.; her mother, Vivian McLaughlin, of Clinton; four sisters, Luella Pool and husband, Norman, of Clinton, Alice Haney and husband, C.C. of Edmond, Wanda Canada and husband, Gerald, of Mustang and Audrey Haggard and husband, Larry, of Clinton.
She is also survived by grandchildren, Lindsey Shepherd, of Edmond, Kayla Watkins and husband, Josh, of Mustang, Kelli Salazar and husband, Matt, of Clinton, Shane Harrelson, Clinton, Montana Harrelson, and Cherokee Harrelson, both of Weatherford, Trevin Hutchings, Kaelan Hutchings and Ashlyn Hutchings, all of Edmond; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Services will be officiated by Doyle Kinney. Following the service, interment will be in the Hatchett Cemetery in Bessie, under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
