Franklin Lynch

Funeral services for Franklin “Frank” Delano Lynch, 81, were held Sept. 18 at St. Paul’s United Church in Boise City.

Lynch died Sept. 9, 2015, at Amarillo, Texas.

He was born Feb. 6, 1934, in Newburgh, N.Y., the son of Joseph M.  and Laura (Bowen) Lynch. His parents died when he was young and he lived with his brother, Joe and his wife, along with his other siblings in Louisville, Ky. In 1948, he moved to a farm in Indiana with his foster parents, Walter and Alice Cowles.

Lynch attended Ahren’s Trade School and studied printing before joining the U.S. Navy. He served as a crash, fire and rescue crewman at Moffett Field, Calif., for two years and spent one year aboard the U.S.S. Hancock.

After being honorably discharged he moved to Menlo Park, Calif., and worked as a fireman.

He was born again in 1958 and was called to preach in 1960. He attended Bethany Bible College. He pastored at Glad Tidings Temple Assembly of God and was ordained as a minister in 1964. He also preached at Radcliff Assembly of God in Fort Knox, Ky., Full Gospel Assembly of God in Hodgenville, Ky., Beechwood Assembly of God, and Rohnerville Assembly of God in Fortuna, Calif.

Lynch was first married to Marilyn Schlosser and they had four children. Later he married Maxine Lucille “Mickey” Mead June 8, 1973, in Fortuna and she had two previous sons.

After they were married he preached for 14 years at the Gospel Pentecostal Church of God in Clinton.

They moved to Hodgenville, Ky., and later to Branson, Colo., where he preached for four years. In 1995 they moved to Boise City where he was the minister of the Pentecostal Holiness Church.

His wife preceded him in death and he was preaching at Campo Pentecostal Holiness Church in Campo, Colo., at the time of his death.

In addition to serving at churches, Lynch was a member of the Cimarron County Ministerial Alliance, substituted at schools and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Joseph, George, John, Edward and William Lynch and Jean Marie (Lynch) Mackie; and his wife, Maxine Lucille “Mickey” Lynch.

He is survived by his sons, Franklin “Butch” Lynch of McKinleyville, Calif., Wayne Millican and his wife, Patricia, of Arapaho, and Timothy Millican of Boise City; his daughters, Pamela Dial and her husband, Rodney of Oakdale, Calif., and Susan Bauere of Arcata, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Interment followed at Garrett Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Cimarron County Ministerial Alliance or the Boise City Senior Citizens Center.
