Grover Wilson

A memorial service will be held for Grover Lee Wilson, 77, of Custer City, at 10 a.m. Saturday in the First Baptist Church of Custer City.

Wilson was born June 27, 1938, to Tyneson Lee Wilson and Willie Pauline (Drake) Wilson. He died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2016, in his Custer City home.

He was raised in Custer City and graduated from Custer City High School in 1957. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1958 and served until 1962, receiving his honorable discharge in 1962. He returned to Custer City and worked farm labor for several years.  He also worked for Burlington Northern-Frisco Railroad for 9 years.  He married Betty Lynn Roof in 1963, and they made Custer City their home for their entire married life.  

He was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Wilson was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Marie Schmitz, and three brothers, Floyd Wilson, Lawrence Wilson and Bob Wilson.

He is survived by his wife, Betty, of the home; a son, Kelly Don Wilson and wife, Sharalyn, Byron, Ill.; a daughter, Bonnie Wesel and husband Bob, Moore; a brother, Marvin Wilson, Concord, Calif.; and three grandchildren, Korey Wilson, Brock Wilson and Elizabeth Wilson.    

Services will be officiated by Rev. Jim French.  Arrangements are under the direction of Kiesau Lee Funeral Home.
