Harold Kliewer

Harold Kliewer went to be with the Lord on July 14, 2016, at age 86. He was at his home in Cordell, OK with family. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was married for 65 years to DeLoris (Nickel). Together they spent their life farming, raising a family and devoting their lives to God. He never wanted to retire from farming, the profession he loved so dearly. He was blessed to have shared this passion with his son Jim and grandson Craig, working side by side over many years.
He lived in the Cordell area from birth to death, son of Theodore and Bertha (Heidebrecht) Kliewer. He was a member of the Herold Mennonite Church since he was a teenager. He served there for many years as a trustee; he was also active in different committees in the church. In his younger years he was able to serve God through men’s missions and helping others.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Eldon, and two sisters, Esther Kliewer and Elvera Schmidt.
He is survived by his wife DeLoris, son Jim Kliewer and his wife Bonnie, a daughter Brenda Fleischood and her husband Kevin. He was blessed with six grandsons, Craig Kliewer and wife Julie, Chris Fleischood, Barry Kliewer and wife Meredith, Kyle Fleischood, Bryan Fleischood and Riley Kliewer. He also had one precious great-granddaughter, Kendall Joy Kliewer.
Harold is also survived by two brothers, Don and Edna Kliewer and Elmer and Sally Kliewer, both of Oklahoma City, and one brother-in-law, Louis Schmidt, of Cordell.
Services will be held at Herold Mennonite Church in Bessie, OK, on Sunday, July 17, at 3 p.m. Reception with the family will follow.
