Helen Clark

Funeral services will be held for Helen M. Clark, 93, of Clinton, at 3 p.m. today (Wednesday), at the First Christian Church. She died Sunday, Jan. 24, 2016, at her home in Clinton.
Mrs. Clark was born Dec. 12, 1922, to Charlie and Ethel (Arnett) Cromwell, in Portland, Ore. She was raised in Topeka, Kan., where she graduated from high school in 1940. She continued her education at Vanderbilt and Phillips Universities, and received her Bachelor’s Degree in 1949.
In 1950 she moved to Duncan and met William Clark, whom she married in 1951. In 1961 she moved to Clinton, where she was employed as the first child welfare worker in Oklahoma. She retired in 1984.
Mrs. Clark was a member of the First Christian Church and the Christian Women’s Fellowship.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a brother, Bob Waller.
She is survived by one daughter, Melinda Clark, Clinton; one son, David Clark, Weatherford; a cousin, Bill Buttram, Lake Tinkiller; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be officiated by Doyle Kinney. Interment will follow at Clinton Cemetery under the direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
