Herman Richard ‘Dick’ Dinkle

   A visitation for Herman Richard “Dick” Dinkle, 78, Corn Heritage Village resident, will from 8 a.m. to 12 noon Saturday in the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.

   Dinkle died Wednesday, May 7, 2014, in the Corn Heritage Village at Corn. He was born April 20, 1956 in Thomas, N.M., the son of Herman F. and Etoyle (Jacobs) Dinkle.

   Dinkle was raised in Edgewood, N.M., where he graduated from high school in about 1955. He was soon drafted in the U.S. Air Force and served two years.

   He received his honorable discharge and began a career with Furr’s Food Chain, doing maintenance and refrigeration work.

   He also owned and operated the Edgewood Grocery Store for several years. He had been in Corn for the past eight years.

   He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Edgewood, N.M.

   Survivors include three daughters, Tambra Tice, of Colorado, Sandra Gillman, of California and Kelli Dinkle, of New Mexico; two step-sons, Bruce Dinkel and David Hill, both of New Mexico; a brother, George Dinkle, of Albuquerque, N.M.; a sister, Wynnora Childers and her husband, Keith, of Las Vegas, N.M.; a brother-in-law, Clifford Sandy, of Corn; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

   Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, Fred Dinkle; and a sister, Juanita Sandy.
