Jackie Henson-Alvis
Jackie Lynn Henson-Alvis, 69, passed to be with our Lord and Savior, the 15th of December at 4:48 pm at Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City, after suffering a heart attack earlier that morning in her home in Arapaho, OK. She is survived by her daughter Jeanine Henson and son New York photographer Allen Henson, her Grandson Marine Veteran, James Weber and two great-grand-children; Jaylynn Louise Weber and Michael Allen Henson. Her husband Russell Van Alvis, Korean War Veteran had just departed earlier that year. They loved each other dearly.
What would be regarded as a lifetime of service to her community early on as an LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) and then raising three generations of her tribe. She was a consummate multimedia artist, researcher of genealogy and a deeply faithful member of the Christian faith, being an active member of the Edge Church and equally active in an array of their Life Groups.
Jackie was a deeply devoted parent. Her acts of selfless service bore no parallel and stand unchallenged as a shining beacon and steadfast example of what it is to give wholly and without cessation. She practiced these core Christian values with such unwavering fervor. Jackie was a saint, modest and never clamoring for recognition for her daily good deeds, had she had it her way, they would likely have gone unnoticed.
She was a great influence and inspiration to us all. Come and join us for a service of remembrance and acknowledgment of her time on this earth; we will gather Monday the 21st, the memorial begins at 3p.m. followed by a dinner in her honor served by her Sisters in Christ, the ladies of the Edge Church. The address is 109 Forrest Lane in Clinton.
