James Clyde Williams

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday for James Clyde “J.C.” Williams, 67, former Clinton resident, in the Baptist Church in Bradley, Ark.
He died Friday, July 22, 2016, at his home in Bradley, Ark.
James Clyde Williams Sr. was born July 11, 1949, to Willie Mae Johnson and James Benuard Williams, in Corpus Christi, Texas.
He was a member of the Bradley Baptist Church and was the men’s Sunday school teacher. He served as a volunteer firefighter and first-responder for 25 years, was an auxiliary officer for the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office, and also served as the mayor in Bradley for eight years.
Williams was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Donetta Friesen; a brother, Jimmy Neal Williams; and a grandson, Tyler J. Cox.
Survivors include his wife, Debi Williams, of the home; son James C. Williams Jr. and wife, Misty, of Bradley; daughter Denise Cox and husband, Randy, of Bradley; three granddaughters, Jorden, Kasidi and Peyton; one grandson, James III; four sisters, Sindi Roggach, of San Jose, Calif., Gwen Thompson and husband, Steve, of Grove, Lissa Lee and husband, JT, of Hydro, and Ellen Williams, of Keithville, La.; three brothers, Robert Neely and wife, Kay, of Fouke, Ark., Darrell Sanders and wife, Ernestine, of Ashdown, Ark., and Dennis Williams and wife, Paula, of Fouke, Ark.; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
