James Harold Poeling
James Harold Poeling, 82 of Clinton, Oklahoma was born on October 6, 1933 in Edmond, Oklahoma to Herman Joseph and Edna Augusta Poeling.
James went to be with his heavenly Father on Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at Grace Living Center in Clinton, Oklahoma.
He joined the United States Marine Corps where he served his country from January 27, 1954 to January 26, 1957 in the Korean War where he received the Korea Defense Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
After his honorable discharge from the Marine Corps James settled in Clinton, Oklahoma and purchased the Meadow Gold Milk Franchise in 1969. He sold Meadow Gold Milk in 1976 and went to work at Tyson Foods until his retirement in 1995.
James enjoyed watching Oklahoma football, Oklahoma State football, and Oklahoma City Thunder basketball. He also enjoyed spending time with his Rat Terriers Baby, Joni, and Sugar. Most of all James enjoyed spending time with friends and family.
Graveside services will be held Saturday December 12, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. at Clinton Cemetery in Clinton, Oklahoma Doyle Kinney will officiate. Services have been entrusted to the care of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home in Elk City, Oklahoma.
James is survived by his two sons, Michael Poeling and his wife Donna of Clinton, Oklahoma, and Randall Poeling of Yukon, Oklahoma; daughter, Linda Rose and her husband James of Clinton, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, Jason Rose and his wife Sarah of Clinton, Oklahoma, Rodney Poeling and his wife Shae of Duncan, Oklahoma, Julie Bradley and her husband Joe of Weatherford, Oklahoma, Michele Johnson and her husband Geoff of Duncan, Oklahoma, Brooke Poeling of Clinton, Oklahoma, Jamie Lambeth and her fiancé Shane Harrelson of Clinton, Oklahoma, Ryan Poeling and his wife Ashley of Duncan, Oklahoma, and Paige Poeling of Clinton, Oklahoma; 13 great-grandchildren, and two on the way; brother Herman Poeling and his wife Pat of Kellyville, Oklahoma; a host of nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death was his first wife, Geraldine, daughter-in-law Marsha Poeling, parents, Herman and Edna Poeling, son, Ronald Poeling, siblings, Robert Poeling, Clarence Poeling, Elmer Poeling, Grace Olson, Willie Poeling, Jack Poeling, Ruby May Anderson and Clifford Poeling.
