Jimmy Sevenstar

Funeral services for Jimmy Sevenstar, 43, of Hammon, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Community Fellowship Church in Hammon.
He died Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016, at Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City.
Sevenstar was born Oct. 10, 1972, to John Randolph Sevenstar Sr. and Lillian (Scabby) Sevenstar, in Clinton. He was raised in Hammon, where he attended school.
He had made his home in Woodward for the past 16 years.
Sevenstar was a wildland firefighter for the Cheyenne and Arapaho tribe for several years. He was a proud member of the Cheyenne and Arapaho tribes of Oklahoma and enjoyed the many tribal traditional ways.  
He is survived by his parents; his wife, Karrie Sevenstar; two daughters, Shailynn and Panda Sevenstar, both of Woodward; a sister, Janice Garcia and husband Fernando; two brothers, Wesley Sevenstar and wife Selene, of El Reno, and Johnny Sevenstar and wife Joni, of Hammon; a granddaughter, Ahkila Butler; and three nieces, Araceli, Mariah and Arianna Garcia.
A traditional all-night wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Community Hall.
The service will be officiated by Pastor Fred Lowe, Rev. Mona Bearshield, Rev. Samuel Otis and Rev. Dolan Ivey.  Interment will follow at Hammon Indian Mennonite Cemetery under the direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
