John Armstrong

   Funeral services for John Armstrong, 60-year-old resident of Woodward, will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel in Woodward.

   Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the Clinton Cemetery.

   Johnny Grant Armstrong died Sunday, June 15, 2014. He was born Aug. 13, 1953, in Clinton, the son of Louis Grant and Peggy Armstrong.

   He was reared by his grandparents, Dick and Nel Armstrong and also his aunt and uncle, Pete and Lavern Armstrong.

   Armstrong graduated from Clinton High School. After high school, he  enrolled at Southwestern Oklahoma State University where he received his Bachelor of Business Administration.

   Armstrong enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving for three years.

   He was united in marriage to Linda Hodge, and was later married to Becky Ann Merriott.

   He moved to Woodward and began working for Marcy Distributing for the next 28 years. He then worked at William S. Key until he retired in January of 2013.

   Survivors include two sons, Chris Armstrong of Des Moines, Wash., and Robert Armstrong of Stillwater.

   He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents; and one brother, Doug Maxwell Armstrong.
