J.W. Brown

Funeral services for former Clinton businessman J.W. Brown, 86,  will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 24, 2015, in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel, officiated by Roland Youngberg.
Burial will be in the Mound Valley Cemetery at Thomas, under the direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.

J.W. Brown was born February 5, 1929, to William A. Brown and Zella (Corn) Brown in Thomas and died Thursday, Aug. 20, 2015, in the Grace Living Center at Clinton.

He was raised in the Putnam area and graduated from Putnam High School in 1947. He farmed with Gilbert Adler in Texas.  Brown married to Margie Foster on April 3, 1948.  They moved to Clinton where he was employed with Bill Teel Chevrolet.  In 1963 he established J.W. Brown Real Estate and operated that until his retirement in 2010.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Rotary Club, and he was a Mason.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife; granddaughter, Lori Beth Parr; and two sisters, Glenda and Clara Patsy Ferrell.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Parr of Clinton and Jamie Brown, Yreka, Calif.; a son, Jeff Brown, Clinton; two sisters, Arlene of Yukon and JoAnn of California; a brother, Dennis Brown, of Shawnee; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild.
