Kenneth Beck

Funeral services for Kenneth Beck, 79, former Clinton resident, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Clinton’s First Mennonite Church.

Beck died Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016, in Norman.

Kenneth Dale Beck was born July 26, 1936, to A.B. Beck and Minnie (Bauer) Beck, in Cordell. He was raised in Cordell, where he was schooled.  When he was about 16 years old, he moved to west Texas and worked putting up electric lines in the Big Ben area.  In 1956 he moved to Wichita Falls, Texas and worked in the oil fields.  In 1957, Beck married Loretta Jane Reimer in Wichita Falls, Texas, and the couple made their first home in Liberal, Kan. They later moved to Oklahoma City, where Beck worked at various jobs until they moved back to Cordell.  Then, in 1965, they made their home in Clinton where he was employed with Mahaney Brothers as parts manager until the business closed.

Beck was an active member of Clinton’s First Mennonite Church, where he was also a member of the King’s Men. He retired in 2014, and enjoyed working out of his shop at his home. After retirement he moved to Norman to be close to family, and was there until his death.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Larry Dale Beck; two brothers, Billy Beck and Lee Beck; and a sister, Jean Beck.

He is survived by his wife, of the home; a daughter, Arlene Buller and husband, Jon, of Edmond; a son, Mike Beck and wife, Jeanne, of Norman; a sister, Pat Mitchell and husband, “Mitch,” of Mustang; a brother, Dennis Beck and wife, Donna, of Orlando, Fla.; and three grandchildren, Drew Beck, Marissa Buller and Adriana Buller.              

Services will be officiated by Pastor Daniel Mosburg. Interment will be prior to the service at Bergthal Cemetery in Corn under the direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
