Leon Mosburg

Funeral services for Leon Mosburg, 80, of Weatherford, will be held at 10 a.m. today at the First Baptist Church.

Mosburg died Friday, Sept. 4, 2015, in his home.

He was born Aug. 11, 1935, northwest of Weatherford, the son of John Mosburg and Mary (Bates) Mosburg. He was raised northwest of Weatherford and attended Custer City schools, graduating in 1953. After high school, he completed two years of college at Cameron University in Lawton.

He married Joy Carolyn Renison Dec. 22, 1955, and they made their home northwest of Weatherford. He worked in the construction business with Cotton Leonard and was a farmer for most of his life until 1995 when he retired.

Mosburg enjoyed traveling, fishing, and Lake City, Colo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Mosburg; wife, Joy Mosburg; two brothers, Raymond Mosburg and John Earl Mosburg; and five sisters, Zelma Jean Mosburg, Alma Resler, Olive Suderman, Alta Porter and Opal Cornelsen.

He is survived by two daughters, Lita Giblet and her husband, Brad, of Hydro and Jackie Dickerson and her husband, Dale, of Colony; three sons, Darrell Mosburg and his wife, Debbie, of Custer City, Don Mosburg of Weatherford,  and Kelly Mosburg and his wife, Kim, of Edmond; one brother-in-law, Billy Renison and his wife, Marlene, of Clinton; 18 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Daniel Mosburg and Earl Stephenson will officiate the service. Memorials may be made to Friends for Life Animal Shelter.
