Nancy Seher

A graveside service will be held for Nancy M. Seher, 78, of Woodward, at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Arapaho Cemetery.
She died Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at AllianceHealth Woodward.
Nancy Marie (Disharoon) Seher was born March 25, 1938, to John Edward and Helen Marie (Wild) Disharoon, in Clinton.  She grew up in Clinton and graduated from Clinton High School in 1956.  She later received her Bachelor of Arts from St. Edward’s University.
In 1958 she married Alvin Seher, in Clinton.  They made their homes in Clinton and Lubbock, Texas, Andrews, Texas, and Austin, Texas, before moving to Woodward.  
Seher worked for the City of Austin, making many of the signs throughout the city.  After moving to Woodward she went to work for the Woodward News, where she was a reporter and photographer.  She was also an archivist with the Plains Indians and Pioneer Museum.
She was a dedicated wife and mother, and was a stay-at-home mom when her children were young.  She enjoyed painting, photography, art and reading.  Seher won many awards and ribbons in art competitions.  She considered it an honor to display her artwork in exhibits.
Seher was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
Survivors include her daughter, Marla Eichholtz, of Austin, Texas; one son, Matthew Seher, of North Richland Hills, Texas; two grandchildren, Steve Seher and wife Jamie, and Claire Walker; two great-grandchildren, Abigail Walker and Mason Seher; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
