Pamela Roper
Funeral services for Pamela Lynn Roper, 54, of Elk City, were held at 10:30 a.m. today at Trinity Fellowship in Elk City. Burial followed at Fairlawn Cemetery.
She died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015, at Oklahoma City.
She was born Sept. 20, 1960, in Embudo, N.M., the daughter of Crystal Lorraine and J. D. Frederick. She moved with her family to Oklahoma in 1964. They lived in Elk City where she attended school before graduating from Carter High School in 1978.
She owned and operated the Daylight Donut Shop for several years and was most recently employed with Great Plains National Bank and FTS International.
She married George Roper July 9, 2003, at Cripple Creek, Colo., and they made their home in Elk City.
Mrs. Roper had been a member of the Western Plains Downed Bikers Association since 2007. She was active in the group and also served as a board member for several years. She enjoyed spending time in the mountains with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Michael “Fatboy” Frederick.
She is survived by her husband, George Roper, of the home; a daughter, Heather Wright of Elk City; a son, Heath Wright of McAlester; her stepchildren, Adrianne Nicole Conley of Oklahoma City, George Justin Roper of Clinton, and Lucy Ann Roper of Clinton; two grandchildren, Kaden and Kelbie Wright; four step-grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Cain and her husband, Roger, of Cold Springs, Ky, and Linda Neeley and her husband, Donnie, of Lawton; four brothers, Johnny Boyster, Salinas, Calif., Dean Boyster, Alva, Alton Frederick and his wife, Alfreda, of Canute, and Phillip “Pete” Frederick and his wife, Melba, of Erick; and a host of other relatives and friends.
