Richard Carpenter

Funeral services will be held today for Richard Lynn Carpenter, 62, of Swan Lake, at 2 p.m. in the Eakly Assembly of God Church.

He died Thursday March 31, 2016, at his home in Swan Lake.

Carpenter was born Jan. 21, 1954, to Dick and Doriene (Graham) Carpenter in El Reno. He attended Eakly schools and lived in the Eakly area most of his life. In 1997 he married Debra Schmidt, also in Eakly.

He worked as a pump setter for King and Cope’s Irrigation, and at the Eakly Co-op. Carpenter enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodcrafts, and he attended the Assembly of God Church in Eakly.  

He was preceded in death by his father and one nephew, David Kirkes.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; son Dalton Ricketts; his mother; two sisters, Linda Hulsey and husband Jimmy, of Weatherford, and Rita McLemore and Roger Hyatt, of Binger; two nephews, Rowdy

McLemore and wife Pee Wee, and their son Cameron, and James Dale Maggard; one niece, Holly Cavanaugh and husband Doug, and their children, Salana and Raevyn.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to help with expenses.

Services will be officiated by Rev. Michael McDaniel. Interment will follow at Eakly Cemetery.
