Clinton admissions continues gradual increase

Clinton High School began a steady increase in admissions over the last 12 years and the current numbers are beginning to reflect that.
For the 2005-2006 school year, CHS’ admissions were at 463.38. In the 12 years since then, admissions has risen 162.92 students. This year, Clinton High will have 626.27 students which ranks third in the new reclassified 4A-1 district.
Previously 5A Chickasha, leads all schools in the district with 663.86. Elgin is the leader amongst the old district with 658.84. Clinton follows behind those two, but they are ahead of Cache, Elk City, Heritage Hall, Newcastle and Weatherford.
Clinton High School Principal Kenny Stringer said growth is always preferential to regression.
“Growth is always good,” Stringer said. “In our business, if you’re not growing then it’s not a good sign. So, we are glad that we have more students coming in here for whatever reason, because we think we’ve got the best school in the area.”
