This article is the third in a series on Clinton High School football’s positional breakdowns heading into the 2016 season.
Senior starting running back Deonte Barker became the primary back amongst a crowded backfield last season and never gave up the reins.
Barker led a Red Tornadoes’ ground attack that rushed for a total of 2,334 yards, 29 touchdowns at 4.8 yards per carry. Barker accounted for 43 percent of that yardage rushing for 994 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Deonte Barker is a two-way starter for the Red Tornadoes. He has the breakaway speed to make big plays. Against Woodward, he torched the defense for 201 yards on just 22 carries.
