Junior Katy Eddy hits the ball back over the net, while sophomore Savannah Sikes looks on. It was a rough four set loss for the Reds. They dropped the opening set 26-24 and never recovered.

Lady Reds lose second straight game

“I think if we would’ve won the first one, the next sets would’ve looked different. But, they got down and beat themselves. The other team outworked them.” Head coach Joey Collins

After a solid tournament weekend, the Lady Reds volleyball dropped their second straight game with a 3-1 loss to the Elgin Lady Owls Tuesday at home.
Head coach Joey Collins said the loss started when the Lady Reds dropped set one.
“We were up in set one the entire time up until the very end,” Collins said. “I think if we would’ve won the first one, the next sets would’ve looked different. But, they got down and beat themselves. The other team outworked them.”
The Lady Reds finally seemed to shake their opening set woes leading the Lady Owls 24-21. The Lady Owls came roaring back with a 5-0, set-clinching run to finish the opening set. The loss deflated the Lady Reds.
