Maine provides experience for Reds
Last year Clinton went into the season with a new quarterback learning a new system.
In 2015, the Red Tornadoes have a senior quarterback with a year’s worth of experience in the offense he will be guiding.
Senior Austin Maine has mastered the attack enough so that when Clinton opens the season Thursday against Lawton MacArthur, he can audible into plays other than what is called.
With that experience, CHS head coach Philip Koons said Maine’s first job Thursday will be to get the offense into the right formation and plays against the defense. Getting a big play from his quarterback against a tough opening foe will be considered gravy, the coach said.
