Southwestern Oklahoma State University saw its football program jump from eighth to second in the Great American Conference from 2014 to 2015.
The Bulldogs’ offensive overhaul, specifically in the passing game, was key to the program’s turnaround. At quarterback, the Bulldogs found their guy in junior college transfer Marc Evans. He put up nice numbers in 2015, throwing for 2,681 yards, 25 touchdowns and just eight interceptions.
The passing game received a shot in the arm, after a rough 2014. The team used three different quarterbacks during the 3-7 campaign. They combined to throw for 1,667 yards, six touchdowns and 19 interceptions.
