In case you missed the biggest Oklahoma football news this summer, Baker Mayfield was granted another year of eligibility for the 2017 season. The Sooner faithful should be ecstatic over this news. However, how does this effect Oklahoma’s program?
Mayfield’s extra year means the Sooners return a national championship caliber quarterback. He gives the Sooners the best chance to win every weekend. The dual threat signal caller threw for 3,700 yards, 36 touchdowns and just seven interceptions. He added 405 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground as well.
